We hereby inform you that through Law No. 81 of March 26, 2019, published in the Official Gazette No.28743-A, a new norm is established to regulate the protection of personal data of citizens in the Republic of Panama .
Balboa Centria Group S.A. is a Panamanian company that manages the “MindFit” brand and all its applications, in which databases containing personal data of nationals or foreigners are manipulated, maintained or administered from Panama, only in a technological environment, for which said company complies with the technical and operational requirements required by law.
This Law also protects and regulates the cross-border storage or transfer of confidential, sensitive or restricted personal data, always guaranteeing that these institutions abroad comply with standards equal to or higher than the Panamanian regarding data protection.
The law establishes that the processing of personal data may only be carried out when the consent of the owner of the data is obtained, or that the processing of the data is necessary for the execution of a contractual obligation, provided that the owner of the data is a party, or that is necessary for the fulfillment of a legal obligation for which Balboa Centria Group S.A. be fastened.
Additionally, Balboa Centria Group S.A. establishes that when electronic means are used for data processing, the appropriate standards, regulations, certifications, protocols, technical and IT management measures are complied with to preserve the security of its systems or networks, or in the provision of its services, in order to guarantee the levels of protection of personal data.
