Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions that members of the “MindFit family” ask themselves.

The first records of the English term “coach” date back to 1830, when it was used by those who lived at Oxford University to refer to those who helped a student prepare for an exam.

Later the word “coaching” was coined to encompass the different activities, tools, etc., that seek to develop and enhance the capabilities present in each individual to take them from point A of their current situation to point B where they want to be. This process is guided by a tutor or “coach” and executed by a pupil “coachee”.

Yes, it is a scientifically based methodology. Coaching has been applied in different areas of work and performance, from education and sports to personal and business. It has also acquired a variety of influences from different scientific fields such as psychology, pedagogy, among others.

Since the mid 90’s it has been developed as a discipline regulated by different professional associations worldwide, such as the Spanish Coaching Association (ASESCO) or the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Executive coaching focuses on business behavior, personal development and interpersonal skills, such as communication and expectation setting.

Coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy, although it may indicate the need for it.

Coaching involves a process of change and personal and professional growth on the part of a coachee, who is the protagonist and responsible for his process of change to achieve his goals. While being accompanied and guided by a coach.

On the other hand, mentoring is established between a Junior protégé and a Senior mentor who shares his knowledge and specific experience in the same area or career that his protégé seeks to develop.

Anyone in the organization can participate, however, our recommendation is to gather a sizeable group of employees or select a group of key employees to increase the reach of the program and generate greater commitment.

We have a large panel of highly qualified and certified expert coaches. They have been carefully selected through a rigorous admission process and are regularly evaluated.

One of the biggest benefits of online coaching is convenience. All you need is a device with internet access to enjoy an online coaching session, whether in the office, in the privacy of your home, in the car or at an airport. In addition, it represents an important saving of time.

Another advantage would be to receive professional support outside the local area. With online coaching you will have access to the best professionals in the world adapted to specific needs, either because of their experience, their certifications, their specialty or their career. There are no barriers, there are no borders. The best option to choose a coach in this company may be in Monterrey, Madrid, Buenos Aires or Miami.

Likewise, the international vision is extremely enriching. A coach who works online, with international experience and who knows different cultures, will bring a broader vision, both professionally and personally.

Something that the experience in MindFit has shown is that the level of perception of the degree of intimacy and anonymity is higher in the online format, since there is no physical convergence of the professional with the employee at any time.

The information shared by you, both in diagnostic tests and in individual sessions with coaches, therapists and other professionals, will be completely confidential. Similarly, individual sessions with professionals will never be recorded. The organization in which you work will only have access to global and aggregated data of all the collaborators, and never individually. At MindFit we comply with the highest personal data protection standards, as well as the external technological systems and services necessary for the platform to function, which also comply with the same standards.
